FORCE – Forensic Culture in Europe, 1930-2000

Sara Serrano Martínez MA

Sara Serrano Martínez is a PhD candidate in the FORCE project. She studied Philosophy at the Universitat de Barcelona (BA, 2016) and she obtained a MA in History of Science: History, Science and Society from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Universitat de Barcelona (2017), presenting a thesis on history of medical approaches to suicide in Spain, 1926-1936. In 2017, she participated in a research project on disability studies at the Philosophy Institute of the the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), with a JAE-Intro scholarship. Her main research interests include history of psychiatry and psychology, especially daily scientific practices and expertise, history from below, and history of working class movements, as well as gender, disability, and violence. Her doctoral research focuses on forensic practices and expertise in Spain, 1931-2000.
